Meet Dr. Bruce Abdullah

Dr. Bruce Abdullah earned his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry.  He and Dr. Tomaselli have been working together since 1989.

He received his Certificate in Periodontics and Masters Degree in Science from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1989. Dr. Abdullah is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Periodontics in Post Graduate Periodontics at the University of Illinois and has been teaching for the last 16 years. He performs and teaches the latest techniques in implant and periodontal surgery. Dr Abdullah is responsible for instructing the residents on the placement of implants and advancements in the field of implant surgery. Dr. Abdullah is one of the first Periodontists trained in the field of implant osseointergration by Professor Per-Ingvar Branemark in 1987. Dr. Abdullah is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

He is among only a small percentage of Periodontists throughout the world that has attained the qualifications of being a Diplomate of The American Academy of Periodontology. Dr Abdullah has been fortunate to have lectured both nationally and internationally on a broad range of topics including periodontal plastic surgery and how to enhance aesthetic outcomes in Cosmetic Restorative dentistry.

Meet Dr. Amy Martin

Dr. Amy Martin graduated with honors from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2003. She went on to complete a General Practice Residency in 2004 at Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she received advanced training in general dentistry. She has worked in private practice for 15 years, and is thrilled to be joining the team at Chicago Smile Design. Dr. Martin is also dedicated to providing dental care to the underserved throughout Chicago. She remains on staff at Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she teaches the dental residents and is the Director of Advocate’s Mobile Dental Program which provides dental care to the needy. She has been the recipient of several awards including the Golden Toothbrush award for her service and commitment to providing dental care to underserved populations.

Mission Statement: “My focus is on providing quality, comprehensive dental care in a caring and compassionate environment. I understand that going to the dentist is stressful for many people, and I strive to make each patient’s appointment as positive and enjoyable as possible. There is no “one size fits all” treatment in dentistry, and I believe in giving a full range of options to patients, and ultimately providing them with a customized treatment plan they are comfortable with. “

Meet Dr. Laura Ruof

Dr. Laura Ruof joined CSD in September of 2024. She originally hails from New York, and graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2007. After dental school she completed a two year General Practice Residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, where she was chief resident. There she received training in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, implants, surgery, emergency dentistry, and the treatment of medically complex patients. After her residency she moved on to work in private practice in New York City, focusing on general and cosmetic dentistry.

What Dr. Ruof loves most about dentistry, is the people. The people she works with everyday, as well as her patients she gets to interact with, make her day brighter, and she aims to do the same for them. She continues her work in general and cosmetic dentistry at CSD, including a new area we are offering to patients called Facial Esthetics. Dr. Ruof has a lifelong interest in facial esthetics, skin care, and anti-aging science, and would call herself an amateur biohacker outside of the office. She believes that health and wellness of the entire body extend to the mouth and facial features.

Dr. Ruof is very excited about the new services we are offering our patients, such as microneedling with PRF, exosomes, and red light therapy. The scientific breakthroughs we have brought to the office to enhance treatments in dental extractions and implants are the same technologies that extend to anti-aging and facial esthetics, so it was a natural fit to offer them to our patients in addition to our regular dental services.

Meet Dr. Satyam Patel

Dr. Satyam Patel earned his dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry. Dr Patel’s commitment to excellence led him to pursue additional training in cosmetic rehabilitation and the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), allowing him to provide comprehensive care to all his patients.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with my family, friends, his dog, exploring diverse cuisines, and staying active at the gym. Dr. Patel strives to bring a collaborative approach to dentistry, which allows his patients to get the care they need. He looks forward to meeting you, wants to hear your questions, any and all.
